Daniel Ewing

SUN PRAIRIE- Daniel "Dan" D. Ewing, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born on June 12, 1944 to Earl and Dorothy (Crary) Ewing. He went on to graduate from Ithaca High School, Class of 1962. Dan served his country during the years of 1962-1965 as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Yorktown during the Vietnam War. He married Paula J. Hammersley on July 31, 1992 in Madison, WI.

Dan was an owner/operator of a semi-tractor trailer which facilitated his personal accomplishment of being able to visit all 50 states.

Dan is survived by his wife Paula J. Ewing; children Stacie (Chris) Aragon, Jeff (Jennifer) Ewing, Charles "Chuck" Ewing, Paul (Lindsay) Vanderbloemen, Beth (Luke) Iverson, and Luke (Heidi) Vanderbloemen; 7 grandchildren Nathan Daniel Ewing, Kaniala Aragon, Andrew Engeler, Malani Aragon, Julie Vanderbloemen, Mark Vanderbloemen, and Addison Vanderbloemen; sister Harolyn (Dean) Petzke and other relatives, and dear friends. Dan is preceded in death by his parents and brother Leslie Ewing.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Full military honors at the funeral home will follow visitation at 3:00 PM. Private burial will take place at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Phelan, Dr. Phillip Bain, and Nurse Tama for their many years of caring for Dan's health. They wish also to extend their gratitude to the staff at both Oakwood East Rehabilitation Center and Heartland Hospice for all their care and compassion for Dan.
