Dane – Daniel S. Breunig, age 60, of Dane, WI died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 12,2026. He was born in Sauk City, WI on December 29, 1965, to Sylvester and Dorothy (Lins) Breunig.

Dan graduated from Sauk Prairie High School Class of 1984. He attended and graduated from the UW Madison Farm Short Course in 1986. He was united in marriage to Kay Helt on April 15, 1989. Together they had 3 children, Shelbey, Dustin, and Dakoda. Dan and Kay have farmed in Dane since 1991 and Dan was most recently also employed as a laser operator with EK Complete Manufacturing in Fall River, WI.

Dan was an avid lover of Wisconsin sports, attending many Brewer baseball, Badger and Packer football games with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, road trips in Kay’s red convertible, spending time in the outdoors and was passionate about farming.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Kay; his children Shelbey, Dustin, and Dakoda; his siblings and their families, Gerry (Kathy) Breunig, Kathy Sliffe, Louise Frosch, Ralph (Barb) Breunig, Ken Breunig, Marcie (Bill) Baures, Randy Breunig, Phil (Theresa) Breunig, Eric Breunig, Nick (Mary) Breunig, Brian (Tracey) Breunig, David Breunig and Kris (Steve) Haag; and in-laws and their families, Paul (friend Mary) Helt, Ann (Steve) Vosen, Joan (Mark) Richter, Dale (Diane) Helt and Lynn (Chuck) Meier. Preceding Dan in death are his parents and in-laws, Dorothy and Sylvester Breunig and Gilbert and Carol Helt, David Frosch, Larry Sliffe, Vicki Breunig, Tom Breunig and Tracy Joseph.

A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held at Rex’s Innkeeper, 301 N. Century Ave., Waunakee, WI from 12-4PM on Friday, September 25, 2026. A visitation will be held at Winn-Cress Funeral Service, 2929 Peacefull Valley Pkwy Waunakee, WI from 10:00 AM until 12:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2026.
