Dale M Schmidt passed away on August 17 surrounded by family, he was 77 years old.
He was born in Plymouth Wi to Melvin and Lucille Schmidt and graduated from Stoughton High School in 1967. He started Dale Schmidt Construction in his early 20's and kept it going for over 30 years. After the death of their oldest son he retired, and him and his wife moved to the Northwoods in St Germain where they built their dream home and became involved in vacation rentals which they both loved. Their home became a revolving door to family and friends where they would spend vacation time. Dale loved the Northwoods but sadly when he was diagnosed with MS they decided to move back home close to family. Those will be cherished memories left behind.
Dale is survived by his wife and best friend Diane, very likable and caring son Jason, Brother Don, Sister-in-law Sue (Ron) Brother-in-law Gary, Brother-In-Law Dave {Karen} Brother-In-Law Mike {Trisha}, and many wonderful nieces and nephews who have been her support for the last month.
He was proceeded in death by a son Justin {Bucky} His parents Melvin and Lucille, Sisters Karen and Corrine, Brother David, Sister-In-Law Sheila, Father and Mother In-Law Bob and Betty.
A memorial funeral service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Deerfield Lutheran Church, main street in Deerfield. A celebration of life will be held at Nora Tavern following the service. In Dales honor please wear Packer or Badger apparel.
Thank you to Interim Health for the kindness in his final days and thank you to family for their support and of course to the special friends who showed up in the garage for all those visits, it will not be forgotten. Thanks to Bette for all the strawberry shakes.
