Dale Arey

Dale S. Arey, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026. He was born on November 25, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the beloved son of Charles and Charlotte (Kuenzi) Arey. On April 14, 1979, he married the love of his life, Linda Rockett, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, sharing decades of devotion, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dale proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Air Force, retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. He also worked many years as a printer for General Casualty Insurance until his retirement.

Dale was a social man who always enjoyed good company, living life to the fullest. He loved participating in local bowling and softball leagues, traveling to new places, and hosting family and friends. A passionate Wisconsin sports fan, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Above all, Dale held a special place in his heart for Christmas, delighting in the joy, traditions, and togetherness of the holiday season.

He is survived by his wife Linda Arey; daughter’s Cindy (Jeff) Butler and Robin (Troy Stebbins) Kreger; sister’s, Mikey (Randy) Schultz and Dody Weisensel; brother-in-law David (Agnes) McCutchin; sister-in-law Mary (Ray) Conkel; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to his brother-in-law Steven (Sue) McCutchin for all their extended help and loving support.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, with Chaplain John Evans presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Dale will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.
