Curtis C. Hoffman, age 79 passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2013, surrounded by family. He was born in Whitewater on July 21, 1934 to Carl and Ruth (Barber) Hoffman.
Curtis was a longtime resident of Stoughton and charter member of Covenant Lutheran Church. Beginining in 1955 he served 4 years of active duty with the U.S. Air Force, and then continued in the Air National Guard for the next 21 years. He retired from service in 1980. He also worked for the WI Dept of Transportation as an engineering technician in the materials lab for 44 years. His hard work and dedication was valued by those around him. He was united in marriage to Sharon Tuchel on October 19, 1968.
Curtis enjoyed the outdoors especially the season change and fall colors. He also enjoyed any kind of physical activity and was constantly on the move whether out fixing or building things, gardening, shoveling, mowing or simply on a walk.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sharon; daughter, Tanya (Ryan) Teasdale; and grandsons, Brycen and Chayce all of Monticello. He is further survived by a sister, Barbara (Chalmer) Arneson of Rochester, Indiana; brother, David (Antonia) of Acapulco, Mexico; sister-in-law, Sandy Tuchel of Stoughton; and a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Benita Hoffman.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., Inspired Adult Day Services and especially Katie for their care and support which made it possible for Curtis to remain in his home, his deepest wish.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton with Rev. Jerry Tews officiating. The family will greet friends after 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Lutheran Church.
