Constance Stowe

Waunakee- Constance L. Stowe, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her home after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on December 9, 1952 in Dodgeville the daughter of John and Delores (McCluskey) Hammond. On September 7, 1974, she was united in marriage with David Stowe in Dodgeville, WI. She has been a resident of Waunakee since 1993, lived in Madison between the years of 1971 - 1993 and prior to that was a resident of Dodgeville. Connie was employed with AT&T in Madison for 31 years retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer Organization from 1971 -present. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and XI Beta Kappa Charitable Sorority. Connie was a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of America for many years and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her husband David, Waunakee; daughter Kristy Stowe, Waunakee; brothers Jack (Theresa) Hammond of Neillsville and Dennis (Sue) Hammond of Dodgeville; sister-in-law Sally Crandall of DePere, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee with Father Gregory Ihm presiding. Friends and family can call on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Winn Cress Funeral Home, Waunakee and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. The family will be using memorials to assist families with members who suffer from Pancreatic Cancer at the Carbone Clinic. The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace HospiceCare and especially Kim Walker for their wonderful care and support. Connie was a devoted wife, mother and sister who found her greatest joy in family and friends.
