Hardacre, Constance "Connie"
Madison: Constance "Connie" Hardacre, age 78, formerly of Whitefish Bay and Mequon, WI, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 30, 2015. Connie was born on August 3, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Robert L. and Luetta (Fledderjohann) Koepke. Connie received her B.S. in Education from Miami University (Ohio) in 1958 attaining Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, and Mortar Board. She also received her M.S. in Education from Cardinal Stritch University. Connie was initially a substitute teacher in various school systems. Later she became a full-time teacher in Whitefish Bay - heading up the Academic Support unit. She had a great interest in nature and science. She was a teacher, but also a student - always eager to learn things even in her later life. In her retirement she volunteered at three Milwaukee area nature centers. Connie had a strong and abiding faith and had a great interest and involvement in Christian missions and missionaries. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Philip A. Hardacre, daughters, Patricia Edgecomb of Elmira, NY, Maribeth Baker of Prairie du Sac, WI, and Carol Sheffield of Sanford, FL, a son, Andrew Hardacre of Deephaven, MN, 14 grandchildren, and her sister, Carole Brown of Bethlehem, PA. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm March 21, 2015, at Oakwood Village University Woods, Resurrection Chapel, 6205 Mineral Point Rd., Madison, WI 53705. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in Connie's name to the Oakwood Foundation, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53705 or Riveredge Nature Center, P.O.
