Connie Matheson

Sun Prairie - Connie M. Matheson, age 59, passed away after a short battle with kidney cancer on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on February 28, 1955 in Madison, WI daughter of Ronald D. and Mary Ellen (McKeowen) Houser. She was united in marriage to Michael on May 21, 1977 in Madison. Connie graduated from Madison General School of Nursing in 1976. She loved being an instructor at MATC in the Medical Assistant Program after a long career with Dean Health as an RN and administrator. In 2001 she received the gift of life, a liver transplant, and would be happy to know that her cornea donation will give someone the gift of sight. Connie enjoyed watching her children and family's sports and activities throughout her lifetime. In her final moments she was surrounded by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Brianna and Alex; brother, Steve (Marlene) Houser; children, Lucas and Trevor; sister, Terrie (Rick) Thorstad; children, Samantha and Max; sister in law, Judy Fish; children, David, Matthew and Shanda; brother in law, Rick (JoAnn) Matheson; children, Tammy, Todd, Rich, Angie, and Jennie; sister in law, Linda Capener; children, Kelly and Kari; sister in law, Ann (Chuck) Schoechert; children, Justin, Jon, Max, Jessica, Brittany and Mitchell.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Ron and Mary Ellen Houser, brother in law, Bill Fish, and nephew, Kristopher Hansen.

A funeral service will be held at BRISTOL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6835 County Hwy N, Sun Prairie on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Reiten officiating. Burial will follow at Bristol Lutheran Cemetery in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Friday, February 27, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Connie's name to Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg or the Connie M. Matheson Memorial Scholarship for Medical Assistant students at MATC.
