Madison – Clela Jane Duemler, wife of John C. Duemler died August 2, 2023. The former Clela Jane Elliott was born in l930, in Wheatland Wyoming, the daughter of Glenn Weaver and Retta Springer Elliott.  She attended Stephens College and the University of Missouri, finishing her degree at Webster College in St. Louis.  She was married to John C. Duemler Sr. in San Diego April 8, l951.  She had a lifetime love of friends; of painting, music, knitting,  crocheting, reading and bicycle riding.  But by far her greatest love was the nurturing of children; both her own, her grandchildren and those she taught.  She was actively involved with both the U.C.C. and Methodist churches.  Her memberships with the Missouri Teachers Association, Olbrich Gardens, Chazen Museum,  the Symphony Crescendo Club, and the Oakwood Chamber Players Board, gave her great satisfaction.  Her love of family extended to her three children, Dr. J. Christopher Duemler Jr.(Vicki), of Brodhead WI.;  Dr. Bruce K. Duemler (Tina), of Monroe WI.;  Sandra A. Huhmann (Virgil), of Rubicon WI., and eight grandchildren – Lt.Col. John C. Duemler III (Maria), Jessica F. Narciso (Alessandro, deceased),  Catherine L. Duemler (Brian Pliley),  Evan M. Duemler (Jordan),  Jennifer T. Donahue (Steven),  Elliott  B. Duemler( partner Constance Buckner), Joshua P. Huhmann (Sara), Carolyn C. Hoffmann (Jameson),  and 10 great-grandchildren.  Clela was pre-deceased by her sister, Arlene Buffington of Mitchell, NE., sister Eleanor Ganz of Lincoln, Nebraska, brother, G. William Elliott (Sue) of Santa Barbara, CA., and sister, Donna Swaim(Bob), of Tucson, AZ. She was also pre-deceased by her sister-in-law, Jeanne Rueter of Brattleboro,VT. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Duemler (Mary), of St. Albans, MO., sister-in-law Annette Reece (Ivan), of Scottsdale, Az., Sister-in-law Yvonne Lupton, of Lake City, MN., sister-in-law, Jacqueline Barnes, of Gulf Shores, AL., brother-in-law, Richard Duemler(Barb), of Washington, MO.  She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law and three brothers-in-law.  Memorials may be sent to the Oakwood Foundation Inc.– 6201 Mineral Point Road – Madison, Wi. 53705.    A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
