Stoughton

Stoughton - Claudia Diane Pundt, a loving daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt, passed away on October 5, 2022, at her home in Stoughton Wisconsin.

Claudia was born on May 20, 1952, to Arthur and Ruth (Bucklin) Pundt in Urbana, Illinois while her father was attending the University of Illinois.  She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1970 and later graduated from UW Milwaukee with a degree in English. Claudia served as a City of Milwaukee Police officer post-graduation.  She then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she lived for twenty years and worked for the Shell Oil Company.  She subsequently moved back to Stoughton, Wisconsin and worked as a medical coder for UW Medical Foundation in Madison, Wisconsin.

Claudia shared her unique sense of humor, was an avid antique collector and had a remarkable connection with animals.  She enjoyed caring for her dog and all of the family pets, watching baseball and even played on a baseball team while she lived in New Orleans. Additionally, in her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, especially taking care of her prized geraniums and working in her antique shop in Madison.  She liked going to estate sales, garage sales and auctions to fill her shop.  She spent many enjoyable hours with her mother, Ruth, who often accompanied her.  She enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews as well and would go to their sporting events, celebrations and just being a supportive, loving part of their lives.  Christmas was always Claudia's favorite time of year when the family would all come together.

Claudia was preceded in death by her father, Arthur B. Pundt.

Survivors include her mother, Ruth, four sisters Wendy Skoien (Jim), Lori Helf (Craig), Christine Leichtman (Barry), and Lisa Vike (Chris), and three brothers, A. Jeffrey Pundt (Susan), John Pundt (Debra) and Jason Pundt (Ann).

She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Deborah Beckett (Brad), Diane Ritchey (Michael), James Kyle Skoien (Angie), Erin Skoien, Wade Pundt, Megan Helf, Kathryn Helf, Lorin Helf, Rhenna Widerski (Alec), Ryan Pundt (Kayla), Brett Leichtman, Owen and Emma Vike.

She is further survived by 15 great nieces and nephews: Kelsa, Elyse, Maddie, Catie, Morgan, Elizabeth, Noah, Aricia Susan, Julian, Cayden, Jace, Clay, Ryleigh, Reid, Hazel, Theo, Cora and Eli.

Claudia’s gentle nature, warm smile and love shown to her family will be dearly missed.
