Clara Carey

Clara L. Carey, of Madison, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born September 21, 1930 in Wonewoc, WI to Naaman and Lydia Small. Clara graduated from Hillsboro High. She worked at Rennebohms 20+ years, Burger King 25+ years, and Liz Waters. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, reading, sewing, and travel. The first thing people noticed was her smile, followed by her sense of humor, and love of family, friends, her work and her life. She was amazing, humble and grateful for what she had.
Clara is survived by her daughters Louise (Alfred) Couillard, Ramona (Joe) Keyes, and Veronica (Robert) Olson; granddaughters Chelsea Couillard and Kathie (fianc� Kevin Brohaugh) Keyes; her partner Joel Scharfenberg; and former son-in-law Michael (JoAnne) McCann. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Julie McCann, and her special cat Max.

A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at St John's Cemetery (Waunakee) at a later date.
