Christine Ponath

Sun Prairie - Christine Ann (Flouro) Ponath, age 72, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016. She was born December 19, 1943 in Beaver Dam to Edward and Genevieve (Bennett) Flouro. On September 3, 1960, Christine was united in marriage to Paul Ponath in Horicon, before settling in Sun Prairie in 1968.
Christine worked as a manager for Dairy Queen for many years. She was also a member of the Sun Prairie Better Business Women's Group, and an Avon representative. In her free time, Christine greatly enjoyed dancing, and was a very accomplished cook.
Christine is survived by her husband; Paul, children; Debra (Glenn) Staffeld of Madison, Steve Ponath of Sun Prairie, and Pam (Toby) Marek of New Berlin, grandchildren; Katrina, Tyler, Nate, and Andrew, great-grandson; William "Liam" Cove Heckmueller, siblings; Jeanette (Melvin) Hansen of Escanaba, MI, Phil (Diane) Flouro of Marinette, Ken (Barb) Flouro of Ladysmith, and Jack (Jayne) Flouro of Horicon, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers; Richard, Dennis, and Edward Flouro.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Dr., Sun Prairie, WI 53590, on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm. A visitation will be held at church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
The family would like to thank Columbus Nursing and Rehabilitation center for the wonderful care Chris received while in their facility the past 3 years. The family is also grateful to the Columbus Hospital for helping Chris during her final hours.
