Cheryl "Sherri" Valenta, age 57 passed away peacefully on November 16, 2013 at her home in Sun Prairie, WI. She was born in St. Charles, Illinois on February 23, 1956. The daughter of Thomas Pardon and Helen (Haeger) Angell.

She was married Rich Valenta on August 25, 1984 in Rockford, IL.
Sherri was a graduate of Wheaton Central High School. She and Rich resided in Lake in the Hills, Illinois until moving to Sun Prairie, WI in 2010. Sherri was known by all as a compassionate, loving person who found joy in caring for others. She was a member of Lake in the Hills YAA and helped in coordinating the Lake in the Hills Summer Sunset Festival. Sherri loved the Northwoods and the outdoors. She was blessed to have close family and high school friends, whom she enjoyed spending most of her time with.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years Rich; children Erin, Zachary and Cori Valenta; grandson Kevin Valenta; sisters Kathy (Scott) Mor and Linda (Alan) Owens and brother Thomas "Bud" (Shelley) Angell. She also had 12 nieces and nephews. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Service will be held 10:00am Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1313 N. Mill Street Naperville, IL with Pastors David Miller and David Haley officiating.

Memorials can be made to UW Carbone Center Lung Cancer Research.

The family would like to extend a special a thank you to Dr. Toby Campbell and nurse Stephanie Sieger. They would also like to extend thanks to the nurses at UW Carbone Cancer Center and Megan Lee at Agrace for their compassionate care.
