Charlotte Miller

Charlotte Miller, age 64, passed away on Sunday May 25, 2025 at her home in Waunakee. The former Charlotte Rosenow was born on January 20, 1961 in Morrison, Illinois to Herman and Mary (Seloover) Rosenow.

She graduated from Morrison, IL High School. She then attended and graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Charlotte retired from work in December 2022. Prior to retirement, she worked at First Business Bank in Madison for twenty years as a Client Relations Associate. She loved interacting with her bank clients and gained many friends, both coworkers and clients, during her time at the bank.

Charlotte, Steve and family lived in Grayslake IL for six years prior to moving to Waunakee in August of 2000. In September of 2001, they moved into their current residence. From the day they moved in, Charlotte would be outside planting new bushes, trees and flowers. Her passion was gardening and she especially loved pink roses. She had lovely gardens at home, at the lake and at church. Charlotte also loved the holidays. It was her opportunity to bring out her decorations and brighten the house. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Charlotte was also a good cook and soon became the hostess for her extended family Thanksgiving dinner. Her pies and desserts were the best. Charlotte also enjoyed quilting. She made quilted blankets for the grandkids when they were born. She loved home remodeling shows and refinished or repurposed many pieces of furniture. She enjoyed shopping in antique stores. There were countless hours just enjoying the experience of seeing what was being sold. Every evening she would spend time reading. Charlotte’s favorite sports team was the Cubs. She also enjoyed UW sports and Packers football. The highlight of every summer was getting the family together at the lake to celebrate the 4th of July. It was a big weekend of food, fireworks and family fun.

Survivors include her husband, Steven; stepdaughters, Leanne (Steven) Nebel and Tara (Kyle) Engel; step-grandchildren, Everett, Ensley, Emersyn, Eastyn, Crosby and Myles; and her siblings, James (Sandy) Rosenow, Paula Nelson, and Bradley (Cheri) Rosenow.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mary Rosenow.

We’d like to thank the staff from Agrace Hospice for their care of Charlotte; Melissa, Nikki, Mary Jo and Pastor Erica. A big thank you also to the Peace Lutheran members that brought numerous meals to our home and to Pastor Karen for her love and support during this time.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 701 S. Century Ave., Waunakee. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family will determine a memorial at a later date.
