Charles Engman Jr.

Charles Alfred Engman, Jr. passed away on November 17, 2013 in Madison. He was born on October 14, 1922, in Philadelphia to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Engman, Sr. He grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois and the University of Hawaii, specializing in engineering. Charles proudly served during WWII as a Marine aviator in the Pacific. He met Edith while both were working in Chicago, and they were married on April 11, 1947.

Charles spent the majority of his professional career in university administration, first in Honolulu until 1963 and finally in Madison, where he retired in 1985. Chuck and Edie traveled extensively following retirement, eventually returning to Madison in 2001. They were an inseparable team for 66 years, living and sharing life to its fullest.

Charles A. Engman Jr. is survived by his wife Edith; his son Mark; and his daughter-in-law Hollie. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
