Madison - Catherine Odette passed away on April 11, 2012, in the arms of her beloved partner of nearly 30 years, Sara Karon. Catherine fought hard for life, justice, and access for all. She was a national leader in disability rights, and was the Grand Marshal of last year's Disability Pride Parade in Chicago. She was the publisher of Dykes, Disability & Stuff newsletter, and co-founder of the Jewish Lesbian Daughters of Holocaust Survivors. She believed in people sharing the stories of their lives.
She is survived by her beloved Sara, and her siblings, Patricia Haas, Jacques Lohr, Jo-Ann Finegan, Pierre Lohr, and Paul Lohr, and many nieces and nephews.
Donations in her memory may be made to Beth Israel Center of Madison, ADAPT, or the Lesbian Herstory Educational Fund.
Funeral services are Sunday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Burial will follow at Beit Olamim Cemetery at Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison.
