MADISON:
Catherine Meiller died January 10, 2017 of complications of peripheral neuropathy.
Catherine worked for the state of Wisconsin in the department of Transportation (traffic accidents), retiring in 1999.
Her first love was ballroom dancing, which she competed in and won trophies for her favorite dance, the polka. She met her husband, Dennis while taking dance lessons and he fell in love with her because she was easily the best dancer out of all the others at the studio. Together, they learned the waltz, cha-cha, triple-step, rhumba and foxtrot. When they were first married they went out dancing 3 nights a week.
The last 3 months of her life were the hardest for her, and for her husband, because she was wracked with severe leg pain, and was very vocal when touched or boosted in bed.
Donations can be made to the Dane County Humane Society.
Special thanks goes to the expert and life affirming care given to Cathy while at Karmenta Nursing Home, with especially her 5 CNA's that cared for her that have approximately 128 years of experience at Karmenta.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. Details will follow at a later date.
