MAZOMANIE/JEFFERSON Catherine Connor, 60, died on March 17, 2018, surrounded by her family at her home in Jefferson. Cathy was born to Mary "Molly" Tormey Connor and Robert J. Connor Jr., on January 30, 1958, at St Maryʼs Hospital in Madison. Cathy lived at home with her family in Mazomanie until she moved to Jefferson in 1987. Cathy attended schools run by the Dane County Transition program. She finished her last year of school in the Sauk Prairie School District. She then attended the MARC center at the old Badger School. Cathy participated in Special Olympics for many years. Cathy enjoyed traveling with her parents and later her siblings. She visited Disney World, New Orleans, Mammoth Cave, Meridian, and of course the cottage on Long Lake. Cathyʼs favorite vacation was her week at Easter time with her sister Ellen and brother-in-law Marcel.
Cathy moved to Jefferson on April 1, 1987, and became a member of the St. Coletta community. Cathy met many people during the years including many wonderful care givers too numerous to name. She celebrated 30 years at St. Coletta on April 1, 2017.
Cathy is survived by her family: Robert and Rosemary Connor of Meridian, MS; Margaret and Joseph Galle of Mineral Point; Julia and Rex Wickland of Madison; Neil and Marcia Connor of Sun Prairie; Patrick and Joan Connor of Madison; Elizabeth and Steve Tucker of Platteville; Mary Connor and Sheri Mauerman of Verona and Fitchburg; Virginia Porterfield of Sun Prairie; John and Leslie Connor of Verona; and her beloved younger sister and best friend Ellen Connor and husband, Marcel Van Camp, of Waupaca. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: David and Amy Connor, Elizabeth Connor and James Cardona, Ted Galle, Michael and Billie Jo Galle, Christopher and Katie Connor, Mary Jane Connor and Corey Uselman, Vicki Connor and C.J. Kaegi, Jennifer and Scot Zimmerman, Emily Tucker and Zane Enloe, Elizabeth and Oumar Thaim, George Lazar Jr., Timothy Lazar and Jennifer Van Vliet, Lucas Connor, Gregory Connor, Kaitlin Schmelzer, and Kyle and Stephanie Schmelzer. Cathy is also survived by her grandnieces and nephews, Ryver, Jaiden, and Raegan Galle; Brian, Elizabeth, and Laurie Zimmerman; and Fode and Connor Thaim. She is also survived by her godmother, Marguerite Jones and many cousins and friends.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Irene and Robert Connor Sr.; John and Margaret Tormey and Elizabeth Tormey; her brother-in-law Waldon Porterfield, her aunts and uncles and several cousins and her godfather Carl Jones Sr.
A celebration of life will be held at Orchard Ridge United Church of Christ, 1501 Gilbert Road in Madison on Friday March 23, 2018, at 4:30 with a visitation from 3:00 to 4:30. A luncheon will follow the celebration of life.

We will be forever grateful to the administration and direct care staff of St. Coletta of Wisconsin. We most want to thank our parents for their courage in bringing Cathy home that winter in 1958. We will never forget you, sweet sister. All is well, safely rest. God is nigh.
