Marshall/ Blanchardville-Catherine T. Crosby-Brabender, age 91, the greatest mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at a Madison Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on December 22, 1923, to Wilfred and Theresa (Spahn) Schultz. She was employed at the Central Wisconsin Center and upon retirement, began to volunteer at the Madison VA and had recently been recognized for 20,000 hours of service. She loved crafting, gardening, volunteering, having breakfast at the Pancake House, and most of all, being with family.
Survivors include her children, Sandy (Roger) Olsen, Steve (Barb) Crosby, Sheryl (Rob) Strommen, and Diann Knowles; grandchildren, Dan and Vicky Olsen, Sheri and Pete Hartman, Jonathan and Abigail Olsen, Sarah (fianc�e, Gregg Hionis) Olsen, Ashley and Joe Guglielmo, Luke Strommen, Jake Strommen, Jeremy and Kristy Crosby, Joshua Crosby, Nathan (fianc�e, Naomi Wisegarver) Knowles, Amy Knowles, Andrea (fianc�e, Christopher Slomczewski) Knowles; great-grandchildren, David, Megan, Michael, Christopher, Lauren, Timmy and Daniel Olsen, Mary, Katie, Grace and Rosie Hartman; Talon and Aspen Guglielmo, Sawyer Crosby; Anthony, Nicholas, Evelyn Rodriguez and Hunter Slomczewski and one more on the way; her sister, Mary Meffert; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Capron; and brother, Wilfred (Bill) Schultz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee. Msgr James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sauk City at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
