Caryol Cutts

Sun Prairie - Caryol Ann Cutts (nee Damon) died peacefully at St. Mary's Care Center on August 27, 2017, in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 79. She had lived with Multiple Sclerosis for a great many years and always kept a sunny disposition despite the hardships of living with her protracted illness. Caryol was born in 1937 at Tomahawk, WI to Charlotte (nee Dreger) and Forrest Damon. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point with a degree in early childhood education. She married Richard "Dick" Cutts, her high school sweetheart and a mathematics professor in 1958. The couple had three children and lived in Sun Prairie, WI, as well as, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Sokoto, Nigeria, Africa. Her children remember her as a very kind, gentle and patient mother who encouraged them to pursue goals and follow their bliss.

Caryol is survived by two of three children, Debbie (Stacy Scharch) Cutts of Minneapolis, MN and Richard (Kathy) Cutts of Sun Prairie, WI, and four granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda (Bill Hansen) Cutts of Appleton, WI and husband, Richard Cutts of Spencer, WI.

Interment of ashes will be at West Spencer Cemetery in Spencer, Wisconsin, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
