Carolyn Barto

FITCHBURG - Carolyn Barto, 68, battling cancer, passed away on Friday December 30, 2016 at Nazareth Health and Rehab Center in Stoughton with her best friend Barb, sister Judy and hospice care at her side. Carolyn was born on Nov. 11, 1948 in Baraboo, daughter of Glen and Evelyn Barto. Carolyn graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1968. She worked at the State office building in Madison until retirement. Carolyn joined the Fitchburg Senior Center where she met many wonderful friends. Carolyn is survived by her dear friend Barb Weller, of Poynette, sister, Judy Hannam of Prairie du Sac, brothers David and Dennis Barto of Reedsburg, sister in laws Judy Arzt and Jean Barto, as well as several nieces and nephews. Carolyn will be greatly missed by her lifelong friend Barb who shared many laughs and cries; and their regular talks with jokes about being each other's therapists. A big thank you to all who helped Carolyn in her time of need. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Rose Room at 5781 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, WI 53711.
