Caroline O'Malley

December 30, 1916 — March 5, 2017

Caroline born on December 30, 1916 in the Town of Lessor, Shawano County, passed to her heavenly home on March 5, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Pearl (Botzet) Hanson. She married George W. Kripps in Madison June 19, 1937. George died on March 26, 1960. She married Thomas V. O'Malley March 15, 1963. Tom died February 5, 1972.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene Demarest of Becket, MA and her son Dale (Nancy) Kripps of Madison, WI, 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.

Darlene has 6 children Stephanie Mayer; Peter Hiam; Beth Hiam and her son Elijah Acheson and daughter Sarena Acheson; Teresa Hiam and her sons Blaine Sumosky and Joshua (Amanda) Sumosky and their son Jude; Matthew (Noriko) Hiam and their daughter Mio; Juliane Hiam and her daughter Harper Glantz, and sons Jack Glantz, Isaac Scribner and David Scribner.

Dale has 2 children Ben (Karen) Kripps and Alex (Jen) Kripps.

Caroline also has 2 step granddaughters Amy (Paul) Austin and their children Emily and Kevin; and Karen Wilhote.

Caroline moved to Madison to live with her aunt Myrtle when she was 16. She worked as a waitress for many years until she went to vocational school and got a job at Oscar Mayer where she worked for 38 years.

Caroline was involved in many civic and church related organizations and was even a founding member of several volunteer groups. She has served on Bethel church's altar guild, the board of Bethel's XYZ (Extra Years of Zest), Bethel's Parish Shop, the Oscarettes, the Oscar Mayer READI group (Retired Employees are Dedicated Individuals), the Madison 410 Elks Ladies Auxiliary, Kayra, Red Cross Blood Mobiles, the Eagles and Moose Clubs, a Cub Scout den mother, and was a member of Senior Citizens.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, step father John Bishop, her sister Eunice Smith, and her brother Christian Hanson and many friends and relatives.
