Carol Statz

Madison - Carol Ann (Burns) Statz, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at UW Hospital. She was born on September 5, 1958 to William and Joan (Kazalski) Burns in Madison, where she was a lifelong resident. Carol received her BA degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and taught for over 30 years in the Madison Metropolitan School District. As an Early Childhood Education teacher, she was devoted to the children she taught. She always enjoyed gardening, and in her earlier years, painted and loved animals.

Carol is survived by her son, Daniel Statz; her mother, Joan Burns; and siblings, Gilbert Burns, Alison Burns, and Becky Burns. She was preceded in death by her father, William Burns.
