JENSEN, CAROL LOIS
SUN PRAIRIE-Carol Lois Beck Jensen, age 87, Devoted wife and mother passed away on April 1, 2017. She was born Dec. 5, 1929, in Racine, the daughter of Christian and Florence (Molter) Beck. Carol graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine. After high school, she met the love of her life, Willard John Jensen, at a Christmas dance where they fell in love and were united in marriage on Oct. 1, 1949. Together they raised two children. In her early years, she enjoyed many sports and excelled at roller skate dancing. She was an expert seamstress and taught herself how to knit, along with painting. She was an active member of Sun Prairie United Methodist Church for 53 years. She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America, Twentieth Century Club, Sun Prairie Historical Society, Questers, League of Women Voters and P.F.L.A.G., and was a volunteer with Readi Group. Carol and Will enjoyed their travels here and abroad.
Carol will be remembered for her warm and welcoming smile, her unselfish love to her family and animals. She loved learning, entertaining, needle work, fine arts and always looked forward to a great shopping trip.
Carol is survived by her husband of 67 years, Will; children, Julie Jensen and Jeffrey (Matt Brazelton) Jensen; her adopted family, Dennis and Marcia Yockers, Gretchen (Darin) and their son Henry James Kleinsasser; and Janet Yockers. She was preceded in death by her siblings, June Krueger, William Beck and Anna May Pearson.
A memorial service will be held at SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie, at 1:00 P.M., on Thursday, April 6, 2017, with Pastor Jenny Arneson officiating. Visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Court, Sun Prairie, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, as well as from Noon until the time of service at church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin or Sun Prairie United Methodist Church.
