Carol Jean Buelow

May 12, 1936 — September 22, 2008

Madison-Carol Jean (Lepinski) Buelow died suddenly of natural causes in her home last week. She was 72 years old.   Carol was born and raised in Wausau, attended school at UW-Eau Claire, then transferred to UW-Madison where she graduated with a degree in Education.   A long time resident of Madison, Carol was active in many local organizations throughout the years; most recently, Sports for Active Seniors (S.A.S.S.), the First Unitarian Society Choir, and several book groups.     Carol loved cooking, reading, gardening, traveling, hiking, swimming, cross country skiing, and the out of doors in general   For many years, Carol wrote and published a travel guide to Wisconsin Bed and Breakfasts.   She was also a talented photographer, who captured many scenic images from Wisconsin and her many travels throughout the world.     She is survived by her daughters, Judy Buelow of Washington DC, Mary Buelow of Janesville, WI and Peggy Crow of Rockford, IL; son-in-law Kevin Crow, siblings Audrey (Melvern) Bankes of Cross Plains, WI Rita (Patrick) Crooks, Joan (David) Obey, and Richard (Barbara) Lepinski all of Wausau, WI, and John (Beth) Lepinski of Appleton,WI; and further survived by other relatives and a wide circle of loving friends.    Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John L Buelow and son John J. Buelow.   A memorial services for Carol will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive, Madison.   Memorials may be made to Wilderness Society or the First Unitarian Society Music Fund.   Cress Funeral & Cremation Service
