Bruce "Eric" Mohs passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Eric was born on February 17, 1970, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Bruce Baldwin Mohs and Jeannette Hight Mohs. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1989.

Eric had a passion for cooking and found great joy in preparing meals for others. He turned that passion into a career, working as a chef at several restaurants throughout the Madison area. Outside the kitchen, he loved music, especially the sounds of Van Halen, Rush, and AC/DC.

One of Eric's greatest joys in life was being a devoted "Funcle" to his nephew, Micah. He treasured every moment they spent together and took great pride in being a loving and supportive uncle.

Eric was the beloved brother of Julia Mohs and Kathy Mohs (Omar Lopez). He was the proud uncle of Micah and a dear friend of Chrissy Smith, Ardrey Smith, Russell Smith, Tyler Smith, Brianna and PJ Bong and their children Kaiden and Harmoney Bong, Alexander Lane, Teresa Lane, Kinslee and Memphis. Destawny Nelson, Skye Soto, Evelyn Nelson. He is also survived by other relatives, his neighbors Raquel, Dan, Curtis, and Val, Babette Gonstead and Bill Stahl, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Jeannette Mohs, and his partner, Brian Smith.

A private service will be held at a later date.
