Boris Vykhodets, 65, passed away peacefully at home on June 21st, 2024, in Madison, WI. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, on September 4, 1959, Boris was known for his humor, hard work, and loyalty, and was beloved by everyone who knew him. He left his career as an anesthesiologist following the fall of the Soviet Union to pursue a better life for his family. During his time in the United States, he has worked as a restaurant owner, bakery manager, lab supervisor, and nurse. Many still remember him from Russian House, the Johnson Street restaurant he and his wife, Marina, ran during the 90s, or from Wild Grains Bakery on Monroe Street, but most best know him from his time as a nurse at St. Mary’s Care Center. During his time there, Boris exemplified compassion and kindness and was an advocate for both his patients and fellow caregivers. During his free time, Boris loved gardening, baking, and traveling all over the world with his family.
A loving husband and father, Boris is survived by his wife, Marina Vykhodets, and his daughters Sarah and Sabina Vykhodets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Sarra Vykhodets, and his sister, Klara Vykhodets.
