MADISON- Borghild Kelly passed away peacefully on July 27, 2015 at Attic Angels. She was born Borghild Hildur Elisabeth Rombach in Freiburg, Germany in 1927 to Hannah and Josef Rombach. Borg taught languages at Central, Cherokee, and West High in Madison. She also returned to Kiel, Germany to teach English for a year. In addition to her native German, Borg was fluent in English, French, Latin, and Swedish. Always high energy, Borg loved to socialize, travel, take photographs and especially to paint watercolor. She had great appreciation for the natural beauty in the world. She left this and more to her family. Borg was an incredible Oma to her grandchildren instilling in them a sense of wonder, curiosity, and creativity that will last all their lives.
Borg was preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother, Elmar who died in WWII and whom she missed her entire life. She is survived by her sons David (Diana), Stephen (Linda), her grandchildren Jaime, Bret and Alison and her former husband Douglas.
A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL SERVICE, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place following the service at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Borg's name to the UW Madison Arboretum, Agrace Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Association. Special thanks to all the caretakers at Attic Angels and Agrace Hospice.
