Bill and Joy Reynolds

In Loving Memory of

William F. Reynolds Jr. (Bill), 81 years, October 7, 2019
Henrietta J. Reynolds (Joy), 80 years, October 13, 2019

Bill and Joy Reynolds were raised in Madison, met while attending Madison Central High School and became high school sweethearts. After graduating, they made the decision to spend the rest of their lives together, and on October 25th, 1958 were married. They spent the next 60 years as husband and wife; father and mother to their children, and best friends to each other.

Shortly after wedding, they purchased a house on the border of Warner Park. For almost 60 years it was their home where they raised their children and pets. Through the years it had additions and renovations, and was a center of activity for them. Bill ran his business out of the home, Reynolds X-Ray Co., and Joy was an exceptional homemaker and mom. When they needed a little getaway, they loved family vacations at Disney World, and camping at state parks.

In February of 1972, together they were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses. Bill and Joy loved to share the Bible's hope for mankind, a paradise earth, perfect health, and the promised resurrection of our dead loved ones. They were active both in the door to door activity and within the congregation. Bill served as one of the elders, teaching and caring for the congregation. Also he was appointed to the local Hospital Liaison Committee, helping Witnesses get professional medical treatment that is compatible with Bible teaching. And both Bill and Joy pioneered (full-time ministry) when their health permitted.

Bill and Joy ended their struggles with severe health problems just days apart. They are survived by sons Glen (Jackie) Reynolds, Bret (Tracy) Reynolds and daughter Sara Reynolds; grandson Cole Reynolds; Joy's sister Jackie Holanda, Bill's brother Steve (Diane) Reynolds; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. They were preceded in death by their parents William Reynolds Sr., Florence Reynolds, Henrietta Butterfield; son Kert Reynolds; and Joy's siblings Bill Cole, Sally Joppa and Chris Cole.

There will be a joint memorial service for Bill and Joy at 3:00 pm, Saturday November 2, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5475 Portage Road, Madison, WI 53704.
