Betty Reinen

Sun Prairie - Betty J. Reinen, age 84 passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on February 3, 1929 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Amdahl) Brown. On November 25, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Donald Reinen at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Together they had and raised one son, Craig. They were charter members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie. For over 30 years, Betty sang in the church choir and was active in the church. Betty loved to dance and always looked forward to going to McGovern's or the Eastside Businessman's Club. Later in life while dancing Betty met her soul mate, Bud Burdick, whom she danced many dances with. She worked for 27 years at the Sun Prairie Public School District in food service. She thoroughly enjoyed going to work every day and seeing the students.
Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janet (Jack Blevons) Reinen of North Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren; Brent (Shannon James) Reinen of Janesville and Brenda (Colleen Marcussen) Reinen of Sun Prairie; two great grandchildren, Robby and Lexi; two brothers, Vernon Brown of Waunakee and Ed (Pug) Brown of Cottage Grove; three sisters-in-law, Betty Brown of Madison, Alice Reinen of Poynette and Kay Brown of Hubertus and a very special niece, Bambi (Ed) Jackson of Madison. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Reinen, her son Craig Reinen, special friend Bud, three sisters, Helen, Loretta and Marge; three brothers, Bill, George and Arnold and three nephews, Jack Reinen, Brian Femrite and Vern Severson.
Funeral services will be held at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Dr, Sun Prairie on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 am with Reverend Julie Krahn officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of services. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery on Monday at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Betty to: Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Dr., Sun Prairie, WI 53590 or to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
