Betty Lanier

Betty Bickford Lanier was born in Colorado in February of 1924 and passed away after a short illness on May 1, 2013 in Madison, WI. She graduated from the University of Colorado and married Mort Bickford in 1946. In 1948 they moved to her beloved Dallas, Texas. During her sixty plus years in Dallas, she raised her daughter, Barbara Bickford, divorced, remarried Bill Lanier, and taught in the Dallas school system for 25 years, primarily at Reihardt and Kiest. The last two and a half years she spent in Madison to be near her daughter. Betty loved to play bridge, travel, watch sports and be with her friends. She was a very independent, generous woman who never gave up, always rooted for the underdog and thought she could do anything - and was usually right. We will miss her.
