Betty Lackner

Mount Horeb - Betty J. Lackner, age 77, passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side, on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.

She was born on March 12, 1936, in Vernon County, Viola, WI the youngest daughter of George Roy and Florence Adaline (Hunter) Hocking.

In 1959 she married George Joseph Lackner of Madison, WI.

Betty was proceeded in death by her husband, parents and her sisters, Marjorie Ramsdon, LaVaun "Pat" Hill, twin sisters; Avis Wellnitz, and Alice Juno.

She is survived by her sister Martha "Jean" (Clarence) Peterson and children; Paul (Lori) Lackner and Lisa (Brad) Humphrey: and her grandchildren; Justin Lackner, Kristin (Baird) Lackner-Buckingham, Emily Lackner, Kyle Humphrey, Joseph Humphrey, Carina Humphrey and Jennie Humphrey.

An industrious homemaker and former employee at Lands End in Cross Plains she will be remembered for her love of nature, frequently taking trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior with her husband George and daughter Lisa. While a relatively quiet and private person, she loved her grandchildren deeply, and enjoyed time spent with them.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their support during the final days of her illness.

A private family service will be held at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
