Betty Blanchar

McFarland - Betty Jane (Geishirt) Blanchar, age 84, passed away on February 18, 2015 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. Betty was born in Madison on September 14, 1930, the daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Woodard) Geishirt. Betty graduated from Middleton High School and was united in marriage to her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Lee Blanchar on November 5, 1949. Together they had six children. Betty worked at WPS and was owner/operator of McFarland Laundromat. She was also a member of the Lionesses. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of Christ the King Catholic Church, enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, the lake and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her six children; Debbie, Susie (Jimmy) Hart of South Carolina, Sandy (Steve) Derus of Washington, Rob (Sherry) Blanchar of McFarland, Joe Blanchar of McFarland, and Joanie Tyler of McFarland, sixteen grandchildren; Charity (Buddy) Leauge, Nick Hart, Amber (Tag) Patacca, Adam Hart, Jennifer, Jeff and Emilee Derus, Justin (Katie) Blanchar, Lacey (Rafael Viloria Toro) Blanchar, Brittany Blanchar, Joey and Alicia Blanchar, Hailey, Maggie, Hannah, and Lillie Tyler, nine great-grandchildren; Cap, Aiden and Tanner League, Sarai, Carly, Autumn and Hunter Blanchar, Alaina Blanchar Jarrett, and Alice Blanchar Schwark.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings; Bud, Elmer, Donnie Geishirt, Virginia Elver, and Jeanne Wagner.

Family and friends may call at Cress Funeral Home (5801 Hwy 51. McFarland, WI 53558) on Friday, February 20 for a visitation from 4-7 p.m. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday, February 21 at Christ the King Catholic Church (5306 Main St, McFarland, WI 53558) from 10:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Private burial services will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Skaalen Home for their loving care for Betty. A special thanks to Agrace HospiceCare for their loving support.
