Bertha 'Bert' Netrefa

Bertha Bert' Netrefa, age 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton.   She was born in Arthur, IL on October 11, 1918, the eighth child of William and Florence (Helton) Fore.   On September 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to Raymond E. Netrefa in Arcola, IL.   Ray and Bert moved to Stoughton in 1953 where they owned and operated Shady Rest Nursing Home for many years.   Bert was active in the community as a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.   With her green thumb, she enjoyed her house plants, gardening, and any kind of yard work.   She very much enjoyed arts & crafts and was the Craft Lady' at the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Youth Camp for many years.   She is survived by her children, Ray (Julie Reddeman) Netrefa, Margo Dilocker, and Rose (Mike) Finfrock; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 1pm at Skaalen Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton with the Rev. James Koza officiating.   The family will greet friends at Skaalen on Wednesday from noon until the time of service.   Thank you to the staff of Friendship Circle for all their kindness to Bert and her family.
