Bernice Bickel

Madison-Bickel, Bernice M., age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after dying peacefully on April 25th, 2013 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, WI.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents (Leo and Rose), her husband, Lester of 57 years, her sister, Lorraine Altenburg and her brother, Francis Metzger. She is survived by her children, Patricia Benedict of Rockford IL, Frederick (Esther) Bickel of Sun Prairie, WI, and Kathleen Bickel of Madison, WI, and by two sisters Genevieve Brown and Dorothy Kokalares. She is also survived by grandchildren Kari (Jurgen) Gunnemann of Ahlen, Germany, Jason (Lisa) Porch, of Lisle, IL and Sabrina Bickel of Sun Prairie, WI. Survivors include great-grandchildren Alyssa and Olivia Gunnemann and Keya and Alec Porch.
Bernice loved people and devoted herself to family and friends. She worked tirelessly as a farm wife, planned for and canned from a large garden which provided for many Sunday gatherings. She enjoyed her flower gardening and bowling. Bernice and Lester traveled extensively after they retired from farming.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM followed by a celebration of life at 11 AM on Saturday, May 25 at High Point Church, 7702 Old Sauk Rd, Madison
