Berdus W. Knickmeier, age 98, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Nazareth House in Stoughton. Â She was born in Middleton on July 26, 1912, a daughter of Emil and Mathilda (Hiney) Jungbluth. Â Berdus was united in marriage to Wilbert Knickmeier, who preceded her in death in 1990. Â Berdus worked as a housekeeper as several UW sorority and fraternity houses. Â She was a hard worker, and a devoted grandmother. Â She enjoyed baking for family events, gardening and crocheting. Â She won the Most Grandchildren' award at Nazareth House in 2009, and at age 96, won a National embroidered art award. Â She is survived by a son, Wilbert (Marjorie King) Knickmeier; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly (Jim) Tjugum, Randy (Maria) Knickmeier, Candace (David) Sarbacker, Steve (Sally) Knickmeier, and Greg (Chris) Knickmeier; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Alta) Jungbluth; and several nieces and nephews. Â She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Wesley; brothers, Emil and Elmer; and sisters, Agnes, Carrie and Berdell. Â Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11:30 am at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St., Stoughton, with the Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Â Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Â The family will greet friends at church on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. Â Special Thanks to the Staff at Nazareth House. Â Â
