Ben Lyons

Madison - Ben J. Lyons, age 68, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at his home in Madison. He was born on March 29, 1945 in Prescott, Wisconsin the son of Bryon and Ruth (Husted) Lyons. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Lynn on October 21, 1967 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ben served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Ben enjoyed construction and remodeling of his home. He was wise, hard-working and kind-hearted. He was very loving and always there for us. His strength and inner calm brought a great deal of peace to all of us who loved him.

Ben is survived by his wife, Geri Lyons; children, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Freymiller, Kara (John III) Gishnock, Nathaniel Lyons, and Jacob Lyons; grandchildren, Andrew Lyons, and Matthew and Megan Freymiller; brother, Richard (Joanne) Lyons; sister, Marilyn Buffington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dan and Robert Lyons.

A funeral service will be held at BETHESDA CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 3245 E. Washington Avenue, Madison, on Friday, October 18, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 East Washington Ave, Madison, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at church on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
