Barbara Smith

Madison - Barbara Lester Smith, daughter of Maude Aldrich and Clarence Brown Lester, born December 31, 1917 in Madison, WI, died on December 16, 2012 in Monona, WI. Preceded in death by husband Robert Carney Smith and son Mark Aldrich Smith. Survived by son Peter Lester Smith (Judith) of Sharon MA, daughters Jane Anne Smith (Kirk Elliott) of Madison WI and Margaret Elizabeth Weinstein of Coatesville PA, stepson David Robert Smith of De Pere WI, grandchildren Matthew Robert Smith, Benjamin Daniel Smith (Elaine), and Elizabeth Alexandra Weinstein, great grandchildren Sadie Rose and Emma Catherine, and nephew Wally Hansen (Kim) of Black Earth WI. Barbara was a long-time member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Madison WI. The family thanks the staff at Reynolds Assisted Living Home for the care and attention they gave to Barbara while she lived there.
