Madison - Barbara "Barb" Jo Prue, age 85, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 28, 1930 to Grant and Beatrice "Bee" Britton in Pontiac, Michigan. Barb was united in marriage to Marvin Prue in 1952 in Pontiac, Michigan. They have been residents of Madison for 39 years. Barb was an owner and buyer at Woldenberg's in Madison. She loved going on trips to New York, and helping in fashion shows in Madison. She enjoyed the symphony orchestra. She loved her home on Lake Mendota, and boating at her residence in Marco Island at Hideway Beach in Florida. Barb was a lifelong member of the Elks in Madison, and a member of The Madison Club for 37 years. She was on the ophthalmology advisory board for Dr. Albert at UW Vision. She was also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Barb is survived by her husband, Marvin Prue; and son, Michael Prue. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Grant Britton Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, with Fr. Bart Timmerman presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at church on Tuesday. Burial will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
