Barbara Jean Lindstrom passed away on February 4, 2024 in the compassionate care of Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Barb was born on October 18, 1933 to Paige and Rowena Lindgren in Minden Nebraska. She spent her younger years in Holdrege, Nebraska, graduating from high school in 1952, and marrying husband, Charles Donald Lindstrom, that August. Barb and her husband moved to Wisconsin in 1957, eventually settling in the Madison Hill Farms subdivision.

Barb was a proud homemaker and mother who lovingly raised her four children. After her children were in school, she worked at JCPenney for over 15 years. Barb and Don retired in 1987 and followed their dream, relocating to warmer Pensacola, Florida. They returned to live in Madison in 2012 to be closer to the many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that still resided there. After Barb’s husband passed in 2017, she moved into a vibrant independent living apartment, where she met additional good friends.

Other than being a wonderful, caring wife, mother and grandmother, Barb had many personal talents and interests. She loved to garden, creating beautiful landscapes in Wisconsin and Florida. She was also a talented interior designer, making her many homes beautiful and welcoming. After retirement, Barb returned to her love of art, painting several elegant paintings. She was deeply interested in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, being ever present at cross-country meets, music recitals, events, and celebrations. She greeted everyone with a beautiful smile and genuine heartfelt hug.

Until her last breath, Barbara loved her family more than anything. Her loving nature was rewarded with the enduring love of each, and every member of her family. She is survived by her children Cheri Ring (Randy), Linda Aten (Tom), Tim Lindstrom, and Kristin Lione (Dave Olsen). She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren (Megan, Kasi, Cory, Justin, Brandon, Anna, Krisondra, Josh, Ryan) and spouses, as well as 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Roger Lindgren and Keith Lindgren.
