Audrey Lange

Audrey Jordan Lange, age 95, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at home. She was born on September 12, 1927, in Sunland, California, the daughter of Lewis and Harriet (Cook) Jordan and moved to West Bend, WI at an early age. She married Frederick Lange on July 31, 1947.

She worked for the West Bend Aluminum Company and then moved to Madison, with Fred, in 1959 to help open a Sentry Foods store on Mineral Point Road and then moving the store to East Washington Avenue in 1983. While she helped where needed at the store, her most important job was that of mother and doing whatever was necessary to support her children. For that her children will always be thankful.

Audrey is survived by her children, Ann (David) Heckendorn and Brian (Korri) Lange; daughter-in-law Sheryl Lange (Thomas); grandchildren, Jessica, Carl, Sara, Janelle, Brock, Logan, Jacob, Jennifer, Kari, Alan, and Lauren; and multiple great grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Betty Bohl; brother, Lewis Jordan and his wife Jeanette; son, Thomas Lange and his first wife Dianne Lange; and many in-laws.

She was proud to support BSA Troop 13 in any way she could and she was a member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church. Cats on her lap, sewing, gardening, long walks, camping with Fred, and just being outside were among the activities that made her happy.

A private burial service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America, Dane County Humane Society, or the donor’s choice.
