Madison -Arthur W. Babler, age 98, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Sebring Assisted Living in Madison. He was born on March 2, 1914 in Monticello, the son of Henry O. and Florence S. (Wittwer) Babler. Arthur graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in business. He was united in marriage to Leone Krueger in 1943. Arthur served in the Coast Guard during WWII, returning after the war to work at American Family Insurance retiring as Assistant Treasurer in 1979. He was very dedicated, to his family taking care of his mother and children, and was enormously in love with his wife of 66 years. She passed away in 2009.
Arthur is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Terry) Bowman and Devon Agaba; two grandchildren, Ethan (Natalie) Zeman and Katharine (James) Monk; twin great granddaughters, Maya and Kenna Zeman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leone; a son, Terry, a daughter, Susan; a sister, Ruth and two brothers, Leon and Carl.
Funeral services will be held at MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 5705 Lacy Road, Fitchburg, on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Phil Haslanger officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
