Arlene Gail Kong, age 78, of Madison, died on Friday, April 10th, 2015. She was born in Stoughton on August 1, 1936, the daughter of Glen and Katherine (Gyland) Quam.
She was united in marriage with the handsome farmhand Orlin Morris Kong on July 9th, 1956.
Arlene was employed at the Milwaukee Railroad, Wisconsin Physicians Service and Madison Gas & Electric. She was an accomplished seamstress and true to her Norwegian heritage.
Arlene was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she showed her love of music by playing in the handbell choir.
Arlene is survived by her children Jeff (Julie) Kong, Peter (Lori) Kong, Lana (Randall) Stulken, Melissa (Mark) Sogn; grandchildren Danielle (Ryan) Gleason, Lindsey (Gabe) Stanek, Tracey Kong, Amy Kong, Casey Kong, Mariah Stulken, Larissa Stulken, Nicholas Sogn, Jeremy Sogn; brothers Derby (Pat) Quam and Donald (Barbara) Quam; sisters-in law Adeline Brickson, Marge Kong; and many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church,2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53704, at 11:00 AM, with pastor Bernt Tweit officiating. A visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church at a later date.
