Arlene E. Dwyer, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1936 in Marshall WI, the daughter of William Butzine and Violet Wolff. She married Harold B. Dwyer on August 26, 1961 in Richland Center.
Arlene was a devoted wife and mother. She spent many years working outside the home as a housekeeper. She cherished spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening and loved decorating for every holiday. She had a kind, giving heart, and volunteered at her church, food pantry and public library. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her three children, Shelly (Paul) Sopko of Madison, Rachel (Trent) Parduhn of New Port Richey, Florida, and Randy (Gina) Dwyer of Sun Prairie; six grandchildren, Kristi (Aaron) and Ryan (Abby) Sopko, Karl (Ashley) Maertz and Lacy (Michael) Parduhn, and Logan and Reanne Dwyer; and twelve great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dwyer; all of her siblings; and two grandchildren, Shawn and Leah.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 9, 2024 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 203 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, WI. Visitation will be held at 10:00am until the time of service. Light refreshments and appetizers will be served at the church following the service.
