Stoughton- Arlen S. Rambo, age 90, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Skaalen Retirement Services. He was born on November 9, 1924, the son of Hans and Isabel Rambo. Arlen graduated from Iola High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during WWII, stationed in the Pacific Theatre. On April 24, 1949 Arlen married Marian Seamonson. After working various jobs, including for his brother Ingar Rambo, Arlen worked at Oscar Mayer for 38 years and retired in 1990. Following his retirement he worked part time with the City of Stoughton, and for Jim's Auction Specialist for 10 years. Arlen was an active member of Covenant Lutheran Church and enjoyed ushering for many years. He was a proud member of the Stoughton VFW Post 328. Arlen was an avid sports fan, especially for the Packers and UW men's and women's basketball. He enjoyed spending time at his Lake Kegonsa home, most of all when family and friends would gather. Arlen is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marian; four children, Larry (Kathi), Dennis (Janice), Lori (John) Faber, and Jeffrey (Lisa); eight grandchildren, Johnathan and Ryan, Eric and Alex (Molly), Lindsay, Allison and Sarah, and Jenna; one great granddaughter, Lexi; beloved canine companion, Tipper; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters, Norman, Ingar, Reuben, Eivind, Loren, Hattie, and Judy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Mark Petersen officiating. Burial, with full Military honors, will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services Thursday at church. Memorials may be made to Covenant Lutheran Church, Skaalen Retirement Services, or to the Stoughton Veterans Memorial Park. A special thank you to the staff of Skaalen for their wonderful care given to Arlen. Please share your memories.
