Aren Wish

Aren Jennifer Wish, beloved daughter of Joel R. and Carol W. Wish, was born November 6, 1982, and died October 2, 2015. Aren attended Waunakee Schools and Carleton College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 2004. Until her illness got the upper hand, she attended the University of Minnesota. Aren was passionate about social services for children and other vulnerable people. She was a life-long avid reader with an intense love of books and book collecting. Aren will be most remembered by those who loved her for her warmth, empathy, generosity, kindness toward others, and sense of humor. She cherished and strove very hard for her independence. For Aren, the goal was always to win independent and joyful moments from life despite the obstacles.

Aren is survived by her parents; her grandparents, Doris and Martin Wish; her aunt and uncle, Gail and Steven Wish; and her cousins, Amy Wish, David Wish, Beverly Brooks and their families. Aren was very grateful for her special friends Seth, Cecilia and their parents, Tyler and Kristen. She was pre-deceased by her beloved "Grandma Jean" and grandfather, John T. Winters.
