Ardys Lawrence

Stoughton / Madison - Ardys Lawrence, nee Severson, age 85, of Madison and Stoughton, WI lost her long time battle with illness and died on April, 14, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. Ardys was born on December 27, 1929 to Arthur and Margaret Severson in Stoughton, WI.

Ardys was a recognized figure on the West Side of Madison as a result of her many years as a School Crossing Guard and will be known by the countless children she helped. After retiring, Ardys spent most of her time knitting sweaters for children of need in impoverished countries.

Ardys is survived by her children, Peggy Lawrence of Madison and Conrad Lawrence of Chicago.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton.
