Madison- Anthony Patrick Pawlowsky passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Madison. Born on November 7, 1929, in Kenosha, WI. Anthony was a beloved figure known for his kindness, humor, and generosity, particularly towards his family and church community.
A proud alumnus of South Division High School in Milwaukee and the University of Illinois, Anthony earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture, which paved the way for a distinguished career. He moved to Madison in 1963, joining Weiler and Strange Associates, then Law, Law, Potter, and Nystrom, eventually becoming a partner at Potter, Lawson, and Pawlowsky. His professional affiliations included the American Institute of Architects, Wisconsin Society of Architects, and various leadership roles in regional and community organizations such as the Construction Specifications Institute, and the American Arbitration Association. His service and contributions were recognized with numerous awards, including the PRO ECLASICAL ET PONTIFICE from Pope John Paul II.
During the Korean War, Anthony served two years of active duty with the Wisconsin Air National Guard at Madison’s Dane County Airport, dedicating his time and skills to his country.
Anthony was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Middleton, where he was deeply involved, serving as an usher and chair of the property commission. His artistic and creative spirit flourished in retirement, enjoying painting and carving among other artistic pursuits.
Anthony is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Marian Ratajczyk Pawlowsky; four children, Toni Lynn, Mark (Michele), Timothy, and Jennie (Rob Davis). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jason, Justin (Sherilyn), Jared, Carson (Megan), Mikayla (Michael Elle); and great grandchildren, Ariana and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Jennie; and his sisters, Johanna, his twin Antoinette, and Christina.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the cemetery, in the Cress Community Room. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
