Anthony Minardi

March 1, 1964 — September 5, 2015

MADISON - Anthony Charles "Tony" Minardi was born March 1, 1964, and passed away suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015. Simply put, Tony was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and we now fully grasp the harsh reality that time itself has immense power to alter the course of our lives in an instant.

Tony was born and raised in the Madison area and attended Sun Prairie High School. Growing up, the family took many summer trips "Out West" to visit Gramps in Colorado. Countless memories were made on those road trips and the shenanigans at holiday celebrations with the cousins made for priceless family stories.

Tony was an old soul who always rooted for the underdog. He was an animal lover and a gentle being to his core. Although a man of few words, he was intelligent and well-read. Tony was a night owl, and greatly enjoyed working as a sound guy for various local bands back in the day. He was generous to a fault and truly lived in the moment. He was looking forward to new opportunities and was beginning to see the light of a bright future.

Tony is survived by his mother, Barbara Schultz of Deerfield; father, Raymond (Rita) Minardi of Mountain Home, Ark.; brother, Dean (Jane) Minardi of Duluth, Minn.; and sisters, Stephanie Minardi of Sun Prairie and Angie (Joe) Haag of Deerfield. Many more relatives and friends will mourn this loss. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leonard and Edith Nordness; paternal grandparents, Charles and Hilma Minardi; stepmother, Judy Minardi; Aunt Norma Maynard; and cousins, Annie Fleming and Randy Maynard.

A memorial service celebrating Tony's life will be held at DEERFIELD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 S. Main St., Deerfield, Wis., at 4 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, with Pastor Larry Sexe officiating. Family will greet friends at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. A private inurnment will take place on a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin.
