WINDSOR-Anythony "Tony" Ballweg, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 30, 1942, in Madison to Leo and Dorothy (Acker) Ballweg. He married Karen Erickson July 27, 1974, and raised two children together, Allen and Jeanette. Tony was employed at the Dept. of Transportation and devotedly farmed his family farm for over 45 years. He served 12 years in the Army National Guard. He was an active member of St Olaf's Catholic Church where he served as an usher and a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.

Anthony never missed an opportunity to enjoy the simple things in life and sweets were one of them. He had strong values and a kind heart. In his spare time, he loved woodworking, gardening, polka music, his dog and mostly, spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Jeanette (Jason) Kuske; his son, Allen; five grandchildren, Kaden, Logan, Allen Jr, Connor, and Kaitlyn; a sister, Mary Ellen (Jim) Ripp; and brother, Thomas (Joan) Ballweg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen and his parents, Leo and Dorothy Ballweg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St Olaf's Catholic Church, 623 Jefferson St., De Forest WI. Friends may call on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee, WI from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
